Making Money Is The Only Goal. Murder Is Simply Collateral Damage.

The member states of Europe are spearheading a campaign to criminalise the NGOs saving lives at sea. The reason is that these organisations do not share the political line of a European community which manufactures massacres year after year, one which has turned the Mediterranean into an unprecedented mass grave. And more than this, the NGOs are not connected financially to European orders, given that many would not touch Europe's dirty money with a barge pole.

Recovered or Saved? Criminalisation of the Sea Missions and Still More Slaughter At Sea

A few hours ago the news broke of the latest, horrendous shipwreck off the coast of Libya, in which it is thought around 240 people lost their lives, according to the account of the NGO Pro-Activa Open Arms, which recovered five cadavers found near to two empty rubber boats. On March 20th another 38 deaths were confirmed off the Libyan coast. The migrants had been drifting on two rubber boats which were then “saved” by the Libyan Coast Guard.

Do Not Lose Hope and the Strength to Always Be There

2016 has ended, and rereading some of the reports from the year just passed, the title of the last report from 2015 stands out: “Thankfully, 2015 Is Over”.
We cannot reprise the title while just changing the days, because 2016 has been even more deadly, and the dynamics still more repetitive, and have even become more violent than 2015. The numbers of daily massacres are terrifying, the official data speaking of more than 5,000 dead. People have never been killed in sea like this year, and these numbers do not do justice to all those who have died before and after the crossing.
