Again migrants travelling to Italy. Life saving operation south of Lampedusa.

The ship Sirio saved about 50 migrants an a boat which was detected about 11 miles in the south of Lampedusa. The operation was fulfilled by a patrol ship (type 300). The marine gave the information that the crew is still occupied by “reloading” the on board taken people.

The 53 men, within them one boy who is not even 18 years old, were brought on board of a patrol ship of the coast guards. That vessel is now on its way to another ship of the marine, named “Etna”. which is participating at the operation “Mare Nostrum”. But at the moment the Etna is situated about 40 miles away from Lampedusa.
